Associate Software Engineer - Flight Simulation | Labs

The Boeing Company is currently seeking Associate Software Engineer - Flight Simulation | Labs to join the Flight Simulation | Labs team located in Daytona Beach, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

There are two distinct statements of work that this requisition will offer within Flight Simulation | Labs. Candidates will work with the hiring managers to determine which statement of work aligns best with their skillset and interests:
  • Modelling and simulation of the EA-18G Growler capabilities
  • Development of tooling for simulation analysis, automation, and/or DevSecOps

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for simulation software systems
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops simulation environments to support testing performed by Mission Systems engineers
  • Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience) for Associate:
  • 2+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada (or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Knowledge or experience in the defense or avionics industry
  • Knowledge of basic networking principles
  • Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
