Location: Englewood Cliffs, NJ (3 days work from office)
Expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL is a mandatory requirement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL, Redis, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases across on-premise and AWS environments.
- Manage replication solutions tailored to each database's high availability and application requirements.
- Administer and optimize AWS managed database services, including RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, S3, and EC2.
- Automate infrastructure setup and routine maintenance tasks using Ansible and AWS CloudFormation.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems using tools such as CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, and MonYog to proactively detect performance bottlenecks and ensure system stability.
- Perform daily database maintenance, health checks, and capacity planning to support long-term scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database schemas, optimize complex SQL queries, and enhance overall database performance.
- Work closely with DevSecOps teams to ensure timely application of security patches, updates, and compliance measures.
- Develop and manage robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime across environments.
- Generate ad-hoc reports and provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Proficient in Shell Scripting or Python and experienced in Linux administration.
