Role-- Network Engineer with Data Center

Location Houston TX [ Onsite]

Job Summary

We are seeking an engineer with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with networking technologies, protocols, and concepts, including but not limited to TCP/IP, routing, switching, IP Address Management (IPAM), DNS, DDNS, DHCP, F5 GTM/LTM, SSH, VPN, internet proxies, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and IP routing protocols such as RIP, BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast, and MPLS.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in advanced routing and switching technologies, including L2 VPN, EVPN, MPLS, and L3 VPN, with deep expertise in routing protocols like BGP and OSPF.
  • Strong understanding of Wi-Fi technologies and protocols, including all IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax), and supporting protocols such as DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPN, ACLs, and LDAP.
  • Practical experience managing datacenter network infrastructure using Juniper routers and switches, Apstra systems, and Arista switches.
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling systems and physical network infrastructure.
  • Proficient in both IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, with a strong grasp of IP traffic management and network infrastructure design.
  • Skilled in deploying and managing Aruba networking solutions, including routing, switching, and wireless systems such as Aruba Mobility Controllers.
  • Experience developing, editing, and recommending IT documentation including policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, best practices, and technical position papers.
  • Capable of monitoring and analyzing network performance and health using Aruba tools and methodologies.
  • Familiar with DHCP, DNS, IPAM solutions (e.g., Infoblox) and load balancing technologies (e.g., F5).
  • Solid background in network security practices including device hardening, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, IPSec, SIEM systems, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Experienced in firewall architecture, configuration, and management, with a focus on both perimeter and internal security.
  • Knowledgeable in Quality of Service (QoS), NetFlow, NAT, web security/URL filtering, malware prevention, ACL management, and virtual networks.
  • Strong background in managing global WAN infrastructures and connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies and solutions, particularly from vendors like Silver Peak and Aruba.
