Job Details
TEKsystems has a 4-5 month contract role for a Technical Project Manager with Oracle HCM experience. Our customer has a need for a Technical Project Manager / Test Lead to assist with an Oracle Cloud HCM implementation project. This assignment will run through at least September, with a slight chance of extending to the end of 2025 (but not beyond the end of year).
This is a dual role, with the consultant initially assisting with coordinating the integrations related to the HCM implementation including the efforts of internal employees, the vendors, and their implementation partner (Accenture). The integration discussions started about 6 weeks ago.
The PM will need to be able to manage the complexity that comes with 38 total integrations and have experience managing larger, complex projects.
The right person will know what an SFTP is, if something is going through an API, etc. He/she will drive the conversation with the business, their implementation partner, and the vendors.
Once the integration work is done the consultant would transition from PM duties to those of a Test Lead: helping with User Acceptance Testing to include ensuring the test scripts are formatted with end to end processes captured, then will coordinate the actual testing effort and handling all of the fallout from testing - anything that needs to be rebuilt, fixed, and re-tested.
Experience as a test lead for HCM solutions is required (Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday, SuccessFactors, etc.).
UAT won't start until most of integrations are built and tested.
He/she will also coordinate the functional unit testing to ensure the integrations are actually working.
The customer doesn't utilize a specific test tool - it's mainly done in Excel.
The areas that will be tested include: Benefits, Core HR, Absence Management, Time & Labor, and Clocks.
The focus of the project is mainly North America and some of the UK.
The Project Manager should be senior level, have great relationship building skills, as well as the traditional project management skills - including the ability to work in a non-structured environment. Someone who is used to a structured and refined project management methodology would NOT be a good fit. Client does have an established PMO but they need someone who is flexible and not rigid in their approach.
