Job: Senior Electrical Test Engineer

What the job involves

We are seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join our hardware team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the testing and validation of our hardware systems. You will work on the Electrical testing, validation, and hardware debugging of electrical components and systems that power our AI-driven solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for system-level electrical testing, hardware debugging, and RMA processes for edgeAI devices (cameras, onboard computers, telemetry modules) used in transit and enforcement systems. You will:

  • Design and execute test plans, Build and maintain test benches, cable harnesses, designs fixtures, and improve automated test systems.
  • Debug and troubleshoot electrical issues, including power supply, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC etc.,
  • Perform root-cause analysis on returned units and drive corrective action.
  • Work closely with R&D, reliability, and manufacturing to resolve hardware defects.
  • Maintain test documentation, debug logs, and RMA workflows.
  • Support electrical compliance and qualification testing processes.
  • Assist in prototype bringup, lab debugging (scopes, VNAs, logic analyzers).
  • Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing to validate designs.
  • Develop test setups and procedures to validate hardware performance and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical hardware testing/debugging (preferably in edgeAI, automotive, instrumentation, or embedded systems)
  • Experience with Altium, Orcad, SPICE; schematic capture and PCB layout understanding.
  • Strong knowledge of image sensors, power management circuits, and high-speed signal design.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC standards and mitigation techniques.
  • Skilled in handling field returns, failure analysis, and feedback integration.
  • Worked or has experience with high and low speed interfaces - PCIe, USB, HDMI/DP, UARTs, GMSL, LVDS, MIPI, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, CAN etc.,
  • Understanding of regulatory testing and compliance needs for Americas and EU
  • Experience with designing and compliance testing for ESD, EMI, UL, SAE, Automotive standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of thermal management in electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for test automation and data analysis.
  • Understanding camera optics and image signal processing is a plus.
