About the Role

Metric5 is currently seeking a Business Development Analyst who will help drive growth at Metric5.

The ideal candidate will assist in assessing available data to discover and identify opportunities.

For qualified opportunities, the Business Development Analyst will support the development of compliant business proposals in accordance with client specifications as defined within a solicitation. This includes developing a compliance matrix, storyboards, proposal outlines, writing assignments, and proposal templates. This may involve writing portions of proposals and editing proposals to make certain that the final proposal is technically compliant with stated client instructions and compelling to the readers. After proposals have been submitted, the successful candidate will assist in curating and maintaining the company's library of submitted proposal materials. An ideal candidate will also have experience leading and developing proposals for government-wide acquisition contracts.

Core Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Proposal Manager and conform to established Metric5 proposal development practices
  • Analyze available data and identify expiring contracts and opportunities that fit Metric5's growth priorities.
  • Support proposals, RFIs, and other responses in alignment with company best practices and opportunity information
  • Collaborate with employees and teaming partners as needed to identify new business opportunities.
  • Work with Account Directors and the Growth leadership of the firm to refine and focus pursuits.
  • Support capture activities through data and coordination of solution responses.
  • Understand and maintain records of solicitation release dates, amendments, submission deadlines, and competitive intelligence.
  • Generate and analyze recurring reports (e.g., weekly, monthly) on critical pipeline health metrics, including win/loss rates, proposal volume, stage transitions, and resource utilization, to inform executive-level decision-making and forecast future resource needs for proposal development.

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without hands-on supervision
  • Must have demonstrated successful, proficient, professional and technical writing skills combined with mastery of writing fundamentals (grammar, punctuation, etc.) as used in professional business writing
  • Must have excellent computer and technical skills and knowledge of report writing software; expertise in MS Office, MS SharePoint, and Adobe PDF products required
  • Knowledge and experience in federal government contracting and proposal development, with a minimum of 2 - 4+ years of experience in business development or proposal development
  • Understanding of proposal team, color team reviews, and proposal milestones

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with proposal automation or CRM tools (e.g., Federal Compass, GovWin) is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading and developing proposals for Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs).

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4+ years of experience in business development or proposal development

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 annually
