Director, Life Science Informatics Consulting

How you will contribute to make an impact:

As Director of our client Advisory & Consulting team, you will play a leadership role in providing domain expertise, thought leadership, and consulting services to help our life sciences clients succeed with their R&D initiatives. Leading a team of technical and scientific consultants, you will work closely with our clients, sales, and delivery teams to proactively identify and respond to client needs by designing and delivering impactful proposals, and staying engaged through successful delivery. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Becoming a trusted advisor to clients through ongoing engagement and relationship development.
  • Translating scientific and operational needs into roadmaps, actionable initiatives and scalable solutions that drive strategic impact by bridging business, IT, and scientific domains.
  • Supporting new business development by expanding the footprint of Excelra s science, data, AI, and technology solutions and services within existing and new clients, working closely with sales.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, best practices in AI and data sciences.

  • Building a world-class life science informatics consulting team by training on industry trends and best practices, involvement in pre-sales and delivery, and bringing in external talent as appropriate.
  • Engaging in industry consortia to learn and to project thought leadership, brand visibility.
  • Embedding the team in client engagements, key account technical management & development.
  • Knowledge of engagement economics, delivery, budgeting, & billing to manage risk and profitability.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • BS or MS in life sciences, data, AI, engineering, or business, with an MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in life sciences consulting with a proven track record supporting new business development and client relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical industry dynamics across research, preclinical development, MSAT, and clinical development, including an understanding of the IT systems landscape, with the ability to articulate strategic and operational impact of data and AI-driven solutions.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and inspiring cross-functional teams through complex engagements.
  • Personable, knowledgeable, entrepreneurial with the achievements to prove it.
