Job Details

Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting enterprise systems from cyber threats, monitoring network security, and ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and proxy servers
  • Monitor network traffic and investigate security incidents and breaches
  • Configure and maintain firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point, etc.)
  • Implement VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN) for secure remote access
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and remediation
  • Maintain and monitor SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, etc.)
  • Enforce network security policies, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with IT teams to secure network architecture and cloud environments
  • Support incident response and disaster recovery planning
  • Document network security designs, procedures, and incident reports
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience in network security engineering
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and proxies
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing & switching
  • Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis
  • Knowledge of security protocols (SSL/TLS, IPSec)
  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows security hardening
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP Security, PCNSE
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture
  • Knowledge of SOC operations and incident response processes
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
