Description APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Responsible for bringing up and enabling Memory Cache driver for new Hardware. Co-ordinate with different teams to make the MemCache bring-up process seamless and document all steps involved. Manage memory cache methods and algorithms in all existing Apple Silicon SoCs. Develop tests to check the functionality of various components of Memory Cache. Investigate and debug any issues related to CPU Power Management and issues related to Memory Cache in future or current Hardware. Develop kernel-level code to improve the existing firmware and firmware for future SoCs. Provide tools support to automate running various workloads to evaluate system performance. Develop various scripts that help in debugging a certain problem related to MemCache performance. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,931 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Education and/or experience must include:
- Using C/C++ programming languages for operating system kernel and driver development
- Understanding modern computer architectures, operating system internals and how memory (DRAM) and memory caches affect power and performance
- Unix/Linux system programming experience in C; and developing and debugging system tools
- Knowledge of SOC or cache simulators
- Using Python programming language for developing of system tools, tests, and scripts
- Understanding of how DVFS (dynamic frequency and voltage scaling) algorithms work (such as cpufreq in Linux)
- Understanding of AMP (also known as Big.Little) CPU architectures and power/performance tradeoffs on different CPU core types
