This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is located at customer's site.

AT&T is seeking a talented and motivated Network Tools Software Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software tools that support network operations and management. You will work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other software developers to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of network infrastructure.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and maintain software tools for network monitoring, configuration management, and performance analysis.
  • Integrate automation solutions with Ansible and Cisco NSO
  • Implement automation scripts to streamline network operations, ensure compatibility and reduce manual tasks.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to identify and address network issues through software solutions.
  • Integrate software tools with existing network management systems and platforms.
  • Initiate code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct thorough testing of software tools to ensure they meet quality standards and requirements.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network tools and applications.
  • Conduct training and provide support to network engineers and other stakeholders on how to use the tools effectively.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to network management and software development.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed tools and scripts

Required Clearance

TSSCI with poly (#tssci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience developing solutions integrating and extending COTS products
  • Software programming skills, especially Python
  • Candidate must have a total of 12 years of applicable experience. The experience can be a combination of degree and work history. This can be a High School degree and 12 years of relevant work history OR an Associate's and 10 years, a Bachelors' and 8 years, a Masters and 6 years or a PhD and 2 years of work history.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker).
  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Certification in networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) or related fields.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
