Location: VA-Arlington

Overview: Every consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services we offer to clients. As a Senior Network Associate, you will join our Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.

Responsibilities:

Provide 1st level technical support to include server, software, and hardware maintenance, and monitor all environments

Perform analysis on systems data (CPU performance, space availability, etc.) reports findings, and recommend improvements to senior engineer

Deploy servers and perform hardware maintenance

Apply software/security patches

Perform other system administration tasks as assigned and in coordination with Senior Systems Engineers with little or no assistance

Diagnose, resolve, or escalate problems

Contact vendors when necessary for hardware maintenance

Answer after hours help desk calls, assist customers with software installations, password resets, and connectivity to network

Monitor the mainframe and network production environments and resolve or escalate problems as necessary to on call IT personnel

Verify that production schedules/processes execute successfully on all platforms as required per documentation

Complete daily logs, documenting all problems, calls to support staff, resolution and sends out to IT staff

Communicate status of work in progress, production environment, and all issues, etc. to next shift

Verify all applicable production applications are available

Evaluate network, mainframe, server, and or telecommunications systems performance against service levels and recommend changes

Open/close Network Operation Center tickets when problems occur, include details and resolution

Provide production control/scheduling support

Implement jobs, source code, and processes from test environments to production on all platforms (mainframe, open systems)

Schedule production jobs and processes across all platforms in scheduling application

Communicate effectively with IT peers to ensure scheduling is accurate

Evaluate and test all jobs/processes for scheduling, resolving scheduling conflicts

Keep all documentation for production schedules/processes up to date for IT

Administer network monitoring tools

Create and update alerts in network monitoring applications as requested by developers or technical services

Communicate effectively with IT peers to ensure alerts are accurate

Increase knowledge of internal and external technologies

Attain one industry recognized certification or recertification every two years or as needed

Improve various processes by working within the IT team structure

Plan, coordinate, and implement new procedures and technologies in order to continually improve Network Operations

Responsible for the proper security and disposal of any confidential information that he or she may possess in the course of performing this position's job duties, in accordance with Personnel and Administrative Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures Manuals

Qualifications:

Formal Education Required:

High School/GED and/or Technical Diploma/Certificate

Experience and Certifications Required:

2 + years Operations experience in a multi-vendor data center desired

2+ years proven experience with cross platform scheduling packages desired, such as Control M, JobTrac, CA Scheduler

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (as demonstrated by prior work experience):

Proven technical background of open system architectures preferred

Demonstrates analytical skills and problem-solving skills

Organizational and multi-tasking skills

Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious, and provides complete follow-through on all areas of responsibility

Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or in a team environment

Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine or other job-related equipment

Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful

Ability to report to the office when required

Essential Physical Requirements:

Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects

If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $90,000 or the hourly equivalent.
