Description
Our client located in Greenville, NC provides trauma, rehabilitation, and outpatient health services to more than 1.4M people in 70 locations across 29 counties. In an average year, about 80,000 inpatient, 460,000 outpatient and 3,000 newborn visits are treated at ECU Health. The clinical staff includes more than 500 physicians and 1,200 nurses.
Job title is technically a Network Engineer II. This Network Engineer will join a team of 5 other network engineers, 1 level 1 Engineer, 3 level 2 Engineers, and 1 level 4 Engineer.
This engineer will spend 50% of their day taking tickets via ServiceNow and troubleshooting issues that support multiple projects for ECU Health. Some of the projects include end of life device replacement, code upgrades, a disaster recovery projects in the early stages, a datacenter migration, helping to build out a NOC, and many more.
Skills: Must have experience with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, and other protocols. ECU Health has Nexus 5k, 7k, 9k, and Cisco DNA currently, they function with Cisco routers and switches. This candidate must have experience with FirePower and Cisco ASA. They must understand best practices they will work with the security team to resole issues.
Ability to script follow a script and make edits with Ansible and or Python to help automate tasks is a very nice to have but not a requirement. This engineer will be a generalist within layer 2 troubleshooting, wireless, break fix, V-lans, and supporting projects.
Additional technologies this engineer may be exposed to are ExtraHop, Net Brain, OBTM, VxLan, and virtualization. There will be 3 other level 2 engineers on the team to help resolve issues and lean on when it comes to troubleshooting.
