Job Details

Description

Innovate, research, and develop new Machine Learning (ML) and Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) techniques and methods to resolve complex engineering problems in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) aerodynamics, aerodynamics shape optimization, thermal management, power electronics heat sink design, and bell paint cup design. Research, develop and deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered virtual wind tunnel Internal Startup (ISU) program for development of real time interactive prescriptive design tools to reduce passenger vehicle development cycle and improve passenger and commercial vehicle shape development meeting strict engineering (aerodynamics) and design (aesthetics) criteria and requirements. Use, train, and apply advanced statistical models (linear regression, logistic regression, Sobol' indices, simulation decomposition and Bayesian statistical models); supervised machine learning models (Kriging, Cokriging, radial basis function (RBF), manifold mapping, support vector machines (SVM), sparse identification of nonlinear dynamical systems (SINDy), and deep learning (deep neural networks)); and unsupervised machine learning models (principal component analysis, singular value decomposition, generative adversarial networks (GAN)) and reinforcement learning.

Additional Description

PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, and one (1) year of experience as a Researcher, Engineer, Graduate Research Assistant, or related role. Must also have experience with: researching and developing Machine Learning (ML) techniques and methods to resolve aerodynamics shape optimization problems, and using and training advanced statistical models, supervised machine learning models, and unsupervised machine learning models.
