Background
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) oversees a 540-site Wide Area Network (WAN) that serves all criminal justice agencies throughout the state of Florida. This network supports various statewide applications, including FCIC, BIS, CCH, SexPred, and Missing Children, among others. The network team is responsible for the ongoing research, troubleshooting, support, and configuration of this infrastructure.

Major Duties and Deliverables
FDLE is seeking one Network Security Analyst to work under the guidance of the Network Supervisor. The selected candidate will assist in the development of Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans for all designated agency systems. The analyst will collaborate with FDLE staff to perform research, draft policies, conduct tabletop exercises, and support knowledge transfer efforts in these critical areas.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and enhancing Continuity of Operations (COOP) programs, plans, and procedures in coordination with the Information Security Manager.

  • Developing and enhancing Disaster Recovery (DR) programs, plans, and procedures in collaboration with the Information Security Manager.

  • Assisting in the development and improvement of Risk Management programs, plans, and procedures in conjunction with the Information Security Manager.

  • Researching mandates, regulations, and compliance requirements related to Information Security for the agency.

  • Conducting interviews and information-gathering sessions.

  • Leading tabletop exercises for COOP, Risk Management, and DR, alongside the Information Security Manager.

  • Establishing and promoting security policies and industry best practices.

Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of five years of IT experience, demonstrating expertise in architectural design, software development, database management, and systems integration across multiple platforms.

  • Proven experience in drafting policies, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations plans.

  • Strong background in conducting technical requirement sessions and leading technical tabletop exercises.
