Job Title: Project Manager - SCADA & Renewable Power Systems
Location: Remote, Travel up to 50%
Duration: 12 Months
Summary:
Seeking a hands-on Project Manager to oversee all phases of SCADA software/hardware deployment, commissioning, and operational integration for utility-scale solar and battery storage plants. This role bridges advanced engineering assignments, field troubleshooting, vendor management, and project reporting for renewable power infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams in complete SCADA/RTU system deployment for renewable plants
- Oversee integration, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting to meet utility standards
- Plan, organize, and execute complex engineering assignments, resource allocation, and vendor/contractor validation
- Develop and maintain schedules and budgets to meet portfolio goals; provide progress reports to management
- Mentor staff on SCADA and engineering best practices, electrical standards, and protocols
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders (vendors, EPCs, utilities, committees)
- Review SCADA/electrical design packages for compliance; troubleshoot communication and AC/DC loop issues
- Ensure safety, quality, and cybersecurity adherence throughout commissioning
- Prepare and distribute detailed reports for stakeholders and management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s in Engineering, Automation or related technical field
- 8+ years of relevant experience with increasing complexity
- PE certification strongly preferred
- Expertise in SCADA system commissioning (Ignition, OPC, Modbus, DNP3)
- Experience with protection relays, networking, electrical drawings, managed switches
- Excellent leadership, analytic, reporting, and vendor management skills
