Senior Revenue Accountant (On-site)(Exempt)

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Revenue Accountant will focus on revenue accounting activities, ensuring the timely execution of monthly and year end close tasks and supporting the financial audit. The Senior Revenue Accountant will lead a team of billing and collection associates working collaboratively to provide accurate abstraction of contracts, accurate billings to customers and effective communication with the sales organization while also managing the collections process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review Salesforce contract abstractions in accordance with applicable standards and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) while managing a high volume of activity.
  • Perform subledger to general ledger reconciliations to ensure the completeness and accuracy of billings and revenue (ASC 606).
  • Actively review contracts prior to execution and resolve discrepancies proactively with the sales team.
  • Prepare and review accounting entries and reconciliations related to deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
  • Analyze and understand product lines, revenue streams, and expense streams to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to enhance product coding in Salesforce and its synchronization with the Sage Intacct Contracts module.
  • Execute period-end close activities, including system closes, journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet and profit and loss flux analyses, and presentations to management.
  • Assist with annual financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and analyses.
  • Identify system or process inefficiencies and provide solutions for process enhancements.
  • Lead and manage a team of billing and collection associates.
  • Implement policies and procedures for collection of outstanding accounts receivable and devise reporting to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting (B.S. in Accounting).
  • Active CPA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of combined corporate and public accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct Contracts module, ERP systems, and Salesforce.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and experience maintaining contract assets and liabilities.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ability to analyze Salesforce contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment using the Sage Intacct 606 Contracts module.
  • Experience reviewing, coding, and ensuring accurate revenue recognition by lines of business.
  • Proficient in assessing general ledger impact for accounts receivable and contracts module functionality.
  • Proven track record of maintaining collection statuses on customer accounts, both current and past due.
  • Prior experience managing a team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Intacct accounting software, including Order Entry and Contracts modules.
  • Familiarity with CRM applications, particularly Salesforce.com.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across all organizational levels.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is moderate, with work performed in an office setting at an individual workstation.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of stationary work.
  • Frequent use of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copier.
  • Occasional movement within the office.
  • Frequent in person communication and via telephone.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $90,000 - $120,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
