Agile Lead Business Analyst / Developer – Power BI, Data Integration & AI Reporting
Location: 100% REMOTE

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hybrid Business Analyst / Developer with strong experience in reporting analysis, design, and development, focused on Power BI, data integration, and AI-enhanced reporting. This individual will play a key role in identifying reporting needs, capturing data architecture requirements, and developing modern analytics solutions that assess Agile team maturity, productivity, and performance through both traditional metrics and AI-driven insights.

Core Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Design (50%)
  • Engage stakeholders to gather and document requirements for dashboards, KPIs, and productivity reporting tied to Agile delivery.
  • Define business logic and KPIs to measure Agile team maturity, throughput, and performance.
  • Partner with data architects to define reporting containers, data sources, and data availability across platforms (e.g., Jira, ADO, Confluence).
  • Collaborate on AI strategy and use cases, identifying where prompt-based insights and generative AI can augment traditional BI.
  • Drive metric standardization, report specifications, and wireframes for executive-ready dashboards.
Development & Delivery (50%)
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using best practices in modeling and visualization.
  • Build efficient and scalable Power Query (M), DAX, and semantic models for business-facing analytics.
  • Support data transformation and integration from cloud, APIs, and enterprise systems into reporting layers.
  • Incorporate AI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI) to enable natural-language querying and predictive dashboards.
  • Test, validate, and iterate on reporting solutions with end users and cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of combined experience in Business Analysis and BI Development, ideally in Agile, tech, or regulated industries.
  • Proficient with Power BI, including advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and report performance tuning.
  • Experience integrating data from Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and enterprise data systems.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery metrics and reporting use cases (e.g., sprint velocity, throughput, cycle time, burndown).
  • Familiarity with AI reporting tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Synapse, or Fabric.
  • Proven ability to define data requirements, write BRDs/FRDs, and translate user needs into reporting specifications.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and agile collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years experience as BA with development background
  • Experience with prompt engineering or generative AI in a reporting context.
  • Familiarity with SQL, REST APIs, Dataverse, or Azure Data Factory for backend data sourcing.
  • Exposure to data governance, lineage, and report cataloging practices.
  • Background working in Agile/SAFe environments or helping to measure team performance and maturity.
  • Prior involvement in AI/BI solution design or building decision intelligence dashboards.

Key Deliverables:
  • Documented and prioritized reporting requirements, metrics, and definitions.
  • Functional, performance-optimized Power BI dashboards measuring team productivity and Agile maturity.
  • Integrated reporting solutions with AI features like prompt-based exploration or insights.
  • Ongoing reporting enhancements and stakeholder feedback loops to support data-driven decisions.


The estimated pay range for this position is USD $66.00/Hr - USD $71.00/Hr.
