Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of structured cabling projects for commercial, industrial, or enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of structured cabling systems, including copper and fiber optic networks, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage structured cabling projects from initiation to completion.
- Oversee installation of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling systems.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSI), and client requirements.
- Supervise field teams and subcontractors; ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Perform site surveys and assessments; assist in design and technical documentation.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve issues.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including work orders, redlines, as-builts, and test results.
- Track project milestones and manage changes to scope, schedule, and cost.
- Coordinate material procurement and inventory management.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and provide continuous improvement feedback.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of project management experience in structured cabling or low-voltage infrastructure.
- Certifications (Preferred): PMP, RCDD (BICSI), OSHA 30, or equivalent.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems and standards.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and construction documents.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
- Field and office environment.
- Occasional travel to job sites required.
- Ability to work in construction environments, including climbing ladders and working in tight spaces.
