Job Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to other occasional tasks, the candidate s key responsibilities will be:
Installing, building, maintaining, provisioning, upgrading, and enhancing servers running RHEL versions 7, 8, and 9.x, as well as OpenShift environments.
Configuring and maintaining HPE ProLiant servers running SELinux, following performance and security best practices.
Supporting and maintaining existing shell scripting tools and creating new scripts as needed.
Collaborating with DBAs and developers regarding access, capacity, and monitoring for Informix and PostgreSQL systems.
Performing tuning and optimization of both virtual and physical operating systems.
Installing, upgrading, distributing, and managing OS releases (requires knowledge of Software Distributor and Red Hat Satellite).
Occasionally working weekends or traveling to courts across the Commonwealth; some overnight travel may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.
Hands-on experience with configuration, administration, and installation of RHEL servers in a distributed environment, preferably on HPE equipment. Experience must include hardware buildout, firmware updates, OS upgrades, and capacity planning across all phases of the hardware life cycle.
Strong RHEL and scripting experience (minimum of 5 years) with shell scripting (primary) and Ansible scripting (secondary).
Experience with backup, recovery, security, integrity, and performance management in both virtual and physical environments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Ability to collaborate with both first- and second-level support engineers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively with team members.
Strong troubleshooting skills, including interaction with non-technical court personnel.
