Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join our team Phantom Works teams in Hazelwood, MO.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design
  • Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements
  • Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation
  • Perform and document analyses
  • Manage supplier development, test and production activities and direct the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals
  • Prioritize, delegate and track performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design
  • Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts
  • Train and coach others
  • Work under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active

This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 9+ years of working experience with a Bachelor's OR 7+ years with a Masters OR 4+ years with a PhD
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering tools (NX, NX motion, Teamcenter, Hyperworks, MSOSA or equivalent)
  • Experience with development and integration of Armament related hardware on Military Aircraft including pneumatic suspension and release equipment, pyrotechnic suspension and release equipment, pneumatic systems, compressors, and pylons
  • Experience with integration of weapons, pods and external fuel tanks on Military Aircraft
  • Experience with supplier developments and procurements including development of procurement specifications, technical evaluation of supplier proposals, technical coordination with suppliers, and supplier component qualification

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
