Key Responsibilities:
- Perform virtual machine migrations across diverse environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and application teams to coordinate migration schedules and dependencies.
- Develop and maintain migration documentation, including runbooks, validation checklists, and rollback procedures.
- Utilize scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline migration workflows.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues during and after migrations.
- Ensure all migration activities comply with established change management procedures, including proper documentation, approvals, and communication.
- Participate in post-migration reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or systems administration, with a focus on virtualization.
- Familiarity with major hypervisor platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.) and enterprise storage systems.
- Basic scripting skills in one or more languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and ticketing systems is a plus.
