Position: Business Analyst with EHS

Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst (BA) with strong experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems and processes. The ideal candidate will act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business requirements to support EHS-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with business stakeholders, EHS teams, and IT partners to understand business objectives and define clear, actionable requirements.
  • Conduct requirement gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews with cross-functional teams.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and project managers to ensure requirements are properly implemented and validated.
  • Perform gap analysis and identify opportunities for process improvements in EHS operations.
  • Support the creation of process flows, data mappings, and system documentation.
  • Assist in UAT planning and execution, ensuring deliverables meet business expectations.
  • Maintain strong communication with global and local stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated with EHS regulations, systems, and reporting requirements relevant to the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in business, Information Systems, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment.
  • Strong understanding of EHS processes and systems (e.g., incident management, compliance tracking, safety reporting).
  • Proven ability to elicit, document, and manage business requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies and writing user stories in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
