Job Title: Project Manager II
Location: Hybrid - 3 Days On-Site / 2 Days Remote | Pittsburgh, PA 15222 ; Cleveland, OH 44136 ; Dallas, TX 75234 ; or Birmingham, AL 35233
Work Schedule/Shift: Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm EST | Minimum 40 work hours per week.
Duration/Length of Assignment: 6+ Month Contract to Hire
Additional Information: This is a replacement role due to backfill needs

Position Overview:
This opportunity supports a risk-focused team within a major banking institution. The group’s primary purpose is to lead and execute technology-driven projects that reduce risk exposure, mitigate fraud, enhance credit risk capabilities, and deliver cost savings or increased business value. The team supports ongoing change initiatives tied to enterprise-wide digital transformation efforts, including fraud detection and revenue optimization. Candidates will work across both business and technology groups, often embedded within lending and credit-risk aligned initiatives. Project team sizes typically range from 20 to 30 individuals and may include multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing technical initiatives that align with organizational goals, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and on budget. This role will require close coordination with various technical and business teams to manage deliverables, track milestones, and facilitate communication across teams. The role will also support managing project budgets, reporting on actuals and forecasts, and handling release schedules, while acting as a liaison between technical developers and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in technical project management roles supporting enterprise-wide initiatives
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with both business and IT stakeholders
- Proven background in managing project budgets, including tracking forecasts and actuals
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience overseeing project timelines, coordinating with business teams, and tracking deliverables
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience managing stakeholder expectations
- Exposure to conflict management techniques in project environments
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience working within the banking or financial services industry
- Prior exposure to Agile or Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies
- Familiarity with Clarizen project management software
- PMP Certification or other formal project management credentials
- Previous experience supporting fraud detection, credit risk, or risk mitigation initiatives
- Former employment with or consulting experience supporting similar financial institutions
Day to Day/Responsibilities:
- Work with internal technical teams to implement change initiatives and technical updates aligned with risk mitigation, fraud reduction, and business optimization strategies
- Coordinate with business line stakeholders, primarily in lending and credit risk groups, to align project outcomes with business goals
- Facilitate and attend regular meetings with various stakeholders to ensure deliverables and milestones are met
- Monitor and track all phases of project activity, including scheduling, milestone tracking, and project release cycles
- Support development and execution of budget releases, managing forecasts vs. actuals and ensuring proper documentation
- Use the Microsoft Suite to maintain schedules, project documentation, communication templates, and stakeholder updates
- Ensure effective cross-functional team collaboration across technical, business, and leadership teams
- Track all project work, update documentation repositories, and monitor project health metrics and progress
- Collaborate within an Agile or SAFe Agile environment (where applicable), including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospective reviews
- Provide ongoing communication and reporting on status, risks, and project updates across all levels of the organization
- Address and de-escalate project conflicts or risks, utilizing strong conflict resolution and communication skills when necessary
- Assist with project closure tasks, including knowledge transfer and retrospective documentation
