Description:
Our client is looking for a lead software engineer to join our team to develop innovative solutions for customers. The avionics products provide increased situational awareness and mission effectiveness to both pilots and mission operators. You will directly contribute to the success of our business by developing elegant software solutions being the technical expert both internally and to our customers.
*Currently looking for a Mid level candidate (5-7 years of experience)
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers with little to no oversight
Design, development, and test of software written specifically for our avionics hardware.
Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and customers.
Estimating software efforts as part of our proposal process
Supporting trades shows and conferences with marketing demonstrations.

Qualifications
5+ years of experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent (master's degree a plus).

Experience leading a team of engineers
Ability and/or willingness to travel (10%) when needed to support aircraft integrations.
Ability to obtain a clearance
Desired
Master's degree in relevant discipline
Understanding of and/or prior experience working with VxWorks
Understanding of and/or prior experience developing software to DO-178B standard.
