MERN Stack Developer with Mapbox, Leaflet.js, or OpenLayers

Core Technical Skills (Required):

• Strong proficiency in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Next.js, and Node.js (6+ years of experience)
• Experience working on full-stack web applications
• Ability to collaborate with our internal development team and follow best practices
• Availability to start at the earliest possible date

Mapping & Geospatial Technologies (Desired):

• Proficiency in Mapbox, Leaflet.js, or OpenLayers
• Familiarity with the GeoJSON format for managing geographic data
• Capability to overlay multiple layers, including nautical charts, POIs, AIS, and geo-fences
• Expertise in real-time vessel tracking on maps

Automatic Identification System (AIS) Data & Geo-fencing (Desired):

• Experience integrating AIS data
• Skills in implementing geo-fencing logic

Microsoft Azure perspective (Required):

• The candidate must possess a solid understanding of cloud computing principles and hands-on experience working with Azure services to design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure applications.
• They should be capable of building and deploying containerized MERN applications, integrating with Azure services, and collaborating effectively with Cloud and DevOps teams for production operations.

Key Competencies Required:

• Strong understanding of Cloud Computing principles and models IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining web applications in a cloud environment
• Ability to design, develop, and support containerized MERN applications using modern cloud deployment practices
• Good understanding of authentication, authorization, and API security (e.g., JWT, OAuth2).
• Knowledge of Azure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for automated build and deployment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Cloud and DevOps teams for production operations
• Experience with Microsoft Azure is highly preferred
