Our Collins Aerospace facility in Lenexa, KS is seeking a dynamic and strategic Program Chief to lead sustaining activities for Oxygen and Passenger Service Unit (PSU) systems at Collins Aerospace. This people manager role is critical in driving the development and execution of long-term support strategies, ensuring technical excellence and seamless customer alignment. Reporting directly to the Oxygen and PSU Senior Program Chief, you'll oversee all aspects of sustaining programs-technical, schedule, and financial-while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver world-class service to OEM and airline customers. The ideal candidate is an action-oriented leader who inspires teams, builds organizational strength, and champions continuous improvement.

Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage effectively across executive, program, and operations teams, as well as directly with customers to manage expectations and report project status. We're looking for a passionate, visionary leader who motivates teams, drives results, plans proactively, and leads with integrity.

This position is eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead programs to support sustaining at the Lenexa site
  • Responsible for teams (based locally and but also in India and Philippines) executing sustaining projects for oxygen & PSU systems
  • Provides managerial review and control over multiple disciplines of engineering efforts including technology development
  • Directs activities of engineering or technical personnel involved in designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing products
  • Responsible for managing budget, schedule, and technical performance of projects of a subset of Operational Support (OSE), Field Support (FSE) and Product Improvement (PIN/PIE)
  • Coordinate resources with the product and system integrated product teams
  • Works with the Associate Director of Engineering to develop and manage department budgets
  • Responsible for employee performance reviews
  • Responsible for ensuring departmental skills matches department needs
  • Participating in customer facing meetings for multiple customers
  • Participating in Collins product safety board
  • Travel is required up to 10% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Technical experience in evacuation system design/support
  • Direct technical leadership experience
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams in fundamentals of engineering, product design, RCCA, and processes and procedures.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
