Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring that all suppliers meet the stringent quality standards required for new product developments. The successful candidate will work closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team, from concept through to product launch, ensuring that all quality requirements are met and risks are mitigated.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with new product development teams to define and communicate quality requirements for new product designs.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and capability assessments to ensure they meet project and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and manage resolution of issues through effective supplier corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and processes for new product launches, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Perform supplier capability assessments and quality audits to ensure compliance with company specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and lead supplier audits, track corrective actions, and ensure their timely closure.
  • Identify potential quality risks in the supply chain early in the product development process and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in a new product development environment.
  • Experience with supplier audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Proficient in using quality management software and tools such as Minitab and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodologies including SPC, FMEA, PPAP, and APQP.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, both internationally and domestically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage complex databases and utilize statistical tools for data analysis and process improvement.
  • Six Sigma or other quality certification is an advantage.

Pay Range: $55.00 - $60.00 Hourly
