Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Workday Report Developer to join our HRIS or Workday support team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building complex reports and dashboards in Workday HCM, and a strong understanding of HR processes and data analytics. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop, test, and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and Workday dashboards that support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and maintain custom reports using Workday Report Writer, Advanced Reports, Matrix Reports, Composite Reports, and Dashboards.
- Create and maintain calculated fields, condition rules, and report prompts to support business reporting needs.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to gather requirements, define reporting specifications, and deliver actionable insights.
- Develop and optimize Workday BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools) templates for formatted documents (e.g., payslips, offer letters).
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoot report-related issues and provide technical support to end-users.
- Support compliance, audit, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Maintain documentation for all reporting deliverables and follow best practices for versioning and change control.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 8+ years of experience with Workday Reporting, including Advanced and Composite Reports.
- Strong proficiency in calculated fields, sub-filters, prompts, and Workday s data model.
- Experience with BIRT, Workday Dashboards, and/or Workday Prism Analytics is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Workday HCM modules such as Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Recruiting, and Benefits.
- Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity and quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday certification in Reporting, HCM, or Prism Analytics.
- Experience in SQL or other analytics/reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Prior experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, government) is a plus.
- Knowledge of security policies and reporting permissions within Workday.
