We are seeking a Technical Architect with strong expertise in cloud-native application design, data-driven architectures, and AI/LLM engineering to join our healthcare provider team with a focus on mental health solutions. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, consultative leadership, and healthcare industry domain knowledge. The ideal candidate will partner with client leadership teams to design and deliver next-generation healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes, streamline provider workflows, and enable AI-driven business transformation in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical architecture design and roadmap for healthcare provider applications, including EHR modernization and greenfield solution development
  • Partner with client leadership teams to define AI-driven business outcomes and translate them into actionable technology strategies
  • Architect and design cloud-native solutions leveraging Azure (preferred), with AWS or Google Cloud Platform experience considered a strong bonus
  • Define and implement API-first, event-driven architectures using microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, Kafka, SNS, or equivalent messaging technologies
  • Architect AI/LLM-enabled applications, bringing products from 0.1 stage (ground-up ideation to MVP) to production scale
  • Prepare detailed technical designs, system blueprints, and user journey mappings that guide engineering teams and ensure alignment with business workflows
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare regulatory frameworks, embedding security and privacy by design
  • Drive technical conversations with developers, product owners, and senior stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns with business goals
  • Provide thought leadership on data strategy, including SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, data warehouse solutions, and real-time streaming data integration
  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies to support rapid, iterative delivery and continuous improvement
  • Guide engineering teams in implementing bespoke, greenfield application development projects for healthcare providers
  • Act as a consultative partner to CIOs, CTOs, and technology leaders, enabling adoption of AI and cloud-native innovations

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Cloud expertise in Azure (preferred), with working knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong background in .NET, Java, or Python with experience in microservices architecture
  • Understanding of modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or React, with experience in micro-frontend architecture and scalable UI design
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka, SNS, SQS, RabbitMQ, or equivalent
  • Proven expertise in API-first, API-driven architectures and modern integration frameworks
  • Experience designing and deploying large language model (LLM) and AI-driven solutions in production environments
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, and data modeling for healthcare data
  • Proven experience with healthcare provider systems, EHR/EMR platforms, and familiarity with FHIR, HL7, and interoperability standards
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and data governance frameworks
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, delivering outcomes in fast-paced, iterative cycles
  • Skilled in creating end-to-end technical designs, detailed system architecture, and user journey workflows
  • Ability to lead workshops, influence client leadership, and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated experience in bespoke and greenfield application development from ideation to deployment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mental health provider systems and unique patient-care workflows
  • Exposure to data interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7, CCD/CCD-A)
  • Hands-on expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/GKE)
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automated testing
  • Knowledge of ML/AI in healthcare contexts such as predictive analytics, clinical decision support, and patient engagement tools

Soft Skills

  • Strong consultative and communication skills to engage senior client stakeholders
  • Ability to balance technical depth with business strategy
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams across engineering, product, and business domains
  • A passion for improving healthcare delivery through technology
