Role: Guidewire Data Engineer

Location: remote 100%.

Duration: Long-Term Contract.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in modern data platforms and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and working with large-scale systems such as Snowflake, Teradata, and AWS. Experience with AWS Glue, SSIS, and insurance platforms like Guidewire is essential for success in this role. You will play a key role in building scalable data pipelines, transforming data for analytics, and supporting enterprise-wide data initiatives.

<>Key Responsibilities:</>
  • Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading using tools like SSIS, AWS Glue, and custom scripting.
  • Integrate data from various sources including Guidewire systems, enterprise databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with data architects and analysts to design and maintain logical and physical data models.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse environments, especially Snowflake and Teradata.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and security on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance of data pipelines and queries.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making across the business.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes using SSIS, AWS Glue, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in working with Snowflake, Teradata, and other relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of AWS services, particularly those used for data engineering (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda).
  • Experience integrating data from Guidewire or similar core insurance platforms.
  • Strong data modeling skills (star/snowflake schema, normalization, etc.).
  • Proficient in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
