Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment of current CMDB data to identify inaccuracies, duplicates, and gaps.
  • Perform data cleanup activities including normalization, deduplication, and reconciliation.
  • Develop and implement data quality rules, controls, and validation processes to maintain CMDB accuracy.
  • Work with IT Asset Management (ITAM), Service Desk, and Infrastructure teams to align CMDB with discovery tools, asset inventories, and service maps.
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL/ITSM processes for Configuration and Change Management.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure owners to validate CI relationships, dependencies, and attributes.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and metrics highlighting CMDB health, gaps, and improvements.
  • Support automation initiatives (discovery, reconciliation, normalization tools) to enhance CMDB accuracy.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of CMDB governance, processes, and tooling.
  • Document standards, processes, and procedures for CMDB maintenance and audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 7 years of experience in Configuration Management, IT Asset Management, or ITSM.
  • Hands-on experience with CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Remedy, Flexera, HP UCMDB, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and ITSM best practices.
  • Proficiency with discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, SolarWinds, Qualys, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or scripting (Python, PowerShell) for data cleanup and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to engage with technical and business stakeholders.
