ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPPORT SCOPE OF ATS (AUTOMATION TECHNICAL SERVICES):
o For all PGS sites in the assigned area:
o Provide L3 technology support and apply site-specific knowledge for address incidents with manufacturing automation and laboratory systems and other GMP systems.
o Coordinate BT infrastructure tasks at the site by liaising with BTI Site Services and HP Support Services to support PGS BT applications and technologies.
o Provide infrastructure expertise when sizing and creating new database and middleware instances as necessary.
o Provide hardware and operating system installation and business as usual support of devices not otherwise supported by BTI/Site Services to include patching, change control, and GMP requirements as necessary.
o Review all plant-level requests for change for all GMP systems servers, networks, databases, middleware, etc.
o Provide application installation and configuration support as necessary.
o Liaise with Pfizer Global Engineering (PGE) for infrastructure and technology tasks related to PGE activities.
o Ensure standardization of platforms.
o Successfully implement the Pfizer Plant Automation Network Structure (PANS) as required by the Plant Network Security Improvement Program (PNSIP).
o Ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained in a GMP-compliant state at all times.
o Participate in the 24x5 on call system for high priority PGS tickets and provide problem solving assistance and site-specific knowledge as needed for all high priority tickets globally.

PRIMARY DUTIES
o Implement global programs for standardization and globalization of priorities.
o Ensure consistent implementation of business process automation principles and alignment of changes with project and departmental objectives.
o Work closely with project sponsors and project team members to ensure effective communication takes place throughout any project life cycle.
o Support the evaluation and implementation of new automation technologies with PGS BT and PGE.
o Apply best practices to drive efficiency and reduce risk in business processes.
o Act as the subject matter expert in automation technology support.
o Implement planned maintenance and back up strategies for automation systems.
o Prepare and update supporting asset, quality and GMP documentation as necessary.
o Troubleshoot and problem-solve automation issues directly or by engaging 24x7 vendor support.
o Provide estimated project costs for upgrades and maintenance to management when necessary.
o Maintain biweekly dashboards for site automation technology life cycle and associated compliance readiness.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
o BS Degree required, in Computer Science, Engineering related field preferred or equivalent work experience with 6+ years in manufacturing technical service areas, e.g., plant automation.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
o Understanding of the ITIL operational framework for IT
o Ability to work as part of larger teams and lead global initiatives
o Ability to remain composed under high pressure situations
o Ability to address and diplomatically resolve interpersonal conflict if necessary
o Deep knowledge of technology policy, process and procedure development and implementation
o Deep knowledge of plant process automation technologies
o Knowledge of and intellectual curiosity to learn new automation technologies, process and business directions.
o Ability to work towards departmental objectives with minimal supervision in the day to day work environment and be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
o Ability to present site information in front of colleagues and management when necessary using MS Office.
o Ability to participate in multiple projects with multiple suppliers and complete tasks on schedule.
