Apex Systems is seeking an Microbiology Lab Intern near Ashland, VA to join one of the largest and fastest-growing industrial water treatment companies in the world.

Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking an Microbiology Lab Intern near Ashland, VA to join one of the largest and fastest-growing industrial water treatment companies in the world.

Duration: 3 month contract (May 2024-August 2024)
Start date: The qualified candidate can ideally begin internship in early May
Responsibilities:
- Perform defined analytical procedures (Biological Activity Reaction Test (BART), dip slide testing and reading, corrosion testing, etc.)
- Assist or setup microbiological tests and analytical instruments
- Export laboratory test requests and import laboratory results in LIMS
- Experience or understanding of flow cytometry and qPCR
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in Science (obtained or in process), microbiology preferred
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry
- Proficient in documentation, computing (e.g., Microsoft Office) and communications skills
