Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Instructional Systems Designer for a multi-year project to sustain and develop training courses for a defense customer.

Duties:

The Instructional Systems Designer will:

  • Use the ADDIE instructional design process and modern courseware development software to design, develop, and deploy web- and classroom-based courses.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, graphic artists, multimedia specialists, and other team members to create engaging, effective, and compliant training content.
  • Ensure all instructional materials meet the defense customer s standards, which include specifications for SCORM compliance and Section 508 accessibility.
  • Serve under a Project Manager and lead development of a course or modules within a course, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Attend (in-person or via MS Teams) periodic meetings with the customer when your project is being discussed.
  • Work with other ISDs on the team to solve problems and grow professionally.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years in instructional design with proven experience leading training development projects, preferably ones within a military context that have used the ADDIE approach to instructional design.
  • Must demonstrate 2 or more years of solid years of experience being part of a team responsible for developing and delivering training products.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory supporting web-based, classroom, and hybrid delivery modalities.
  • Strong communication and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to meet product deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with immersive technologies (AR/VR) in training environments is a significant plus.
