IT Support Specialist

Houston, Texas

Central Houston company has an immediate need for a IT Support Specialist for a permanent position.

Responsibilities:
-Serve as IT Support Specialist is the company's first line of defense for technical issues.
-Act as the primary point of contact for employees needing assistance with technology.
-Investigate and resolve employee technical problems. If an issue cannot be fully resolved, escalate it appropriately. Ensure the employee's concern is fully addressed.
-IT Support Specialist will keep detailed records of issues and solutions to prevent recurrence and improve future support.
-Manage on-site computer kiosks and printers, including software updates, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and handling supplies.
-Assist with setting up new employees' computers and peripherals, and create new user accounts.
-Write and update technical documentation, collaborating with different departments to understand their needs.
-IT Support Specialist will gather employee feedback on technology and processes and share insights with the internal team.
-Proactively suggest ways to enhance technologies, policies, or procedures for better efficiency and user experience.
-Assist with new employee orientation and maintain hardware inventory.
-Ensure all user machines have the most current software.
IT Support Specialist Background Profile:
High School degree is required
1 year of previous experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role
Tech savvy with working knowledge of Mac, Windows and Google Chrome
Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, printers, and other technology products
Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required
