Marketo seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Customer Engineering Team (CET). We're a team of creative problem-solvers with a passion for helping our customers achieve their business goals. As advocates for some of our largest customers, we are uniquely positioned to develop our own solutions and assist other component teams in delivering quality features across the platform to support our highest-scale needs.

Work with highly available services, RESTful APIs, and internal and external interfaces that support and empower our users. Help build towards the future of Adobe by leading on new cutting-edge products. Learn to anticipate our customer's needs through a suite of powerful monitoring tools and the support of your peers. Participate in cross-cutting platform investigations and find ways to unlock new levels of performance. Innovate in the area of responsible AI that Adobe is pioneering.

This currently is a hybrid in-office position. The core team is located in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, and San Jose, CA.

What you'll do
  • Collaborate and solution with some of our biggest customers
  • Work with data streams and APIs to provide enhanced automation capabilities
  • Build tools to alleviate support bottlenecks
  • Proactively monitor for improvement opportunities
  • Enhance scalability and performance across the platform
What you have
  • 5+ years working in SaaS platforms & technologies
  • Experience planning and implementing architectures for new services or components.
  • Strong grasp of data and system performance and tuning for KPIs
  • An emphasis on back-end development (Java or PHP preferred)
  • Expertise working with SQL and NoSQL data stores (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB)
  • Solid understanding of Docker or other container orchestration systems
  • Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to collaborate!

Bonus Points
  • Experience in consulting and/or customer-facing roles
  • Expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Understanding of Scrum / Agile Methodologies
  • Experience working with extremely large data sets
  • Affinity for APM and monitoring tools (New Relic, Wavefront, Vivid Cortex)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data-Driven Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience with AI and GenAI

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $154,000 -- $278,800 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
