Job Description:
Apex Systems, a World-Class Technology Solutions Provider, is currently hiring for a Network Engineer on behalf of their client. Ideal candidates will have the experience below, please note only qualified applicants will be contacted.
Position: Network Engineer (2030377)
Security Clearance Required: Secret
Pay Rate Range: $110-125k/year
Duration: long-term contract
Location: On Site - Aurora, CO
Additional Details: role requires 50% travel between Schriever AFB (Colorado Springs, CO) and Vandenburg AFB (Santa Maria, CA)
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Required Skills and Experience:
Secret Security Clearance
Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and minimum of 6 years of related work experience.
Experience with Data Center LAN and WAN design, implementation, diagnostics, performance, and management Ability to understand system data flows internal and external to the overall system boundary.
Experience with Linux system administration / VMware Experience with configuring cloud networking in AWS, security groups.
Hands on experience scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.)
Submitted applicants must have the ability/flexibility to travel between Colorado Springs and Vandenberg AFB, CA 50% of the time.
Hours 8am-5pm

- The qualified candidate will support the design, development, Integration, and maintenance of our modern infrastructure Network framework.
- The environments are a mix of physical and virtualized servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware, providing the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset.
- This will include a mixture of hands-on keyboard Network Engineering work as well as documentation and baseline control.
- The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have an engineering mindset, have the ability and willingness to troubleshoot complex network problems, seeking to understand virtualized design elements in a dynamic environment.
