Job Description:

Two aspects of this Program Manager role:

  • This role focuses on efforts to sustain, enhance, and establish new capabilities for internal-facing technology solutions focused on leveraging capabilities atop the ServiceNow platform, Asset and Configuration Management, and a long list of internal-facing applications such as Workday.
  • The team this manager leads is a hybrid of PMI stage-gate/phase-gate/waterfall project managers and Agile-oriented scrum masters.

Brief Description:

The Portfolio & Program Manager is viewed as a management leader within the organization, guiding a team that provides program and project management and delivery of technology and business initiatives while actively ensuring consistency with company strategy and goals.

Detailed Description:

  • The individual in this role will be a management and thought leader as well as an expert in the utilization of Project Management Methodology and in the creation of full-scale project plans for the execution of program and project goals and strategies.
  • This role focuses on efforts to sustain, enhance, and establish new capabilities for internal-facing technology solutions focused on leveraging capabilities atop the ServiceNow platform, Asset and Configuration Management, and a long list of internal-facing applications such as Workday. Specifically, this individual will lead a hybrid team of project managers and scrum masters who apply Predictive (Waterfall), Adaptive (Agile), and Hybrid methodologies to accomplish objectives on scope, on time, and on budget.
  • To be successful, the candidate must be driven and well-organized. The individual needs to be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and drive the project team to complete tasks on agreed schedules.
  • Management will look to this individual to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the portfolio to provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior members of their project management team and across the organization.
  • This individual is expected to help lead relationships with the business, cross-impacted IT teams, and third-party vendors, and must possess the ability to negotiate effectively in the face of sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Will work to provide input into monthly management report deliverables, providing status on the segment s overall portfolio health.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and create a positive, high-performing environment will be key to driving results and achieving our strategic goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with and leading the program/project team to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned project efforts
  • Consistently work successfully with core program and project leadership to ensure success
  • Actively facilitate and participate in the analysis and review of overarching program and project deliverables
  • Create and maintain the full spectrum of program/project documentation as defined by the Project Management Methodology
  • Lead and coordinate program and project delivery and status with other bank departments/affiliates and third-party vendors
  • Guide and motivate your team of project managers and scrum masters to achieve their full potential, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence
  • Provide your team with the support, mentorship, and resources they need to successfully deliver complex programs and projects
  • Facilitate and work with program and project team members to meet established target dates and completion of activities/deliverables
  • Manage programs/projects within the approved budget and schedule
  • Ensure consistency of accurate program and project status reports on time
  • Lead the management of program/project change, risk, and issue management
  • Ensure all risks and issues are documented and addressed appropriately
  • Ensure consistency of full-scale program/project plans and schedules
  • Ensure consistency to update/maintain program/project information in the project management tool (PPM)
  • Schedule and facilitate program and project meetings
  • Actively and effectively communicate with the program and executive, and senior leadership team members
  • Ensure all aspects of the program and project documentation are created, reviewed, and approved by the required individuals
  • Collaborate with the program and project teams on project scope and commit estimates
  • Understand and consistently follow the project lifecycle methodology
  • Work with minimal to no supervision, with latitude for independent judgment and problem-solving
  • Provide mentorship to the organization and team members as needed
  • Management responsibilities for Project Managers and Scrum Masters

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Program Manager
  • Experience managing in a hybrid environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Banking or Financial Services
  • Strong experience utilizing a variety of portfolio project management tools (experience with ServiceNow PPM is a plus)
  • Strong experience creating and tracking project schedules in MS Excel or MS Project
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies and project management processes, standards
  • Strong aptitude in both business and technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain project risks and issues, and IT-related concepts clearly and concisely to multiple layers of peers and leadership
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple priorities, and to effectively prioritize them
  • Ability to provide strong program and project leadership during periods of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change
  • Willingness and drive to learn and understand detailed software solutions
  • High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with leadership, team members, and business partners, and establish effective working relationships
  • Ability to initiate and facilitate change, whether indicated by corporate needs, market, e, or regulatory requirements
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional information technology programs.
