Location: Carson City, NV (Remote) - Part time
***Estimated 10 15 hours per week with increases when covering for leave of other physicians.
Job Description
- Physician with board certification of psychiatrist and unrestricted license to practice as MD or DO in the US.
- Will review prior authorization requests for medical services to determine medical necessity.
- All review and decisioning is performed via electronic review. Will be required to be available for peer to peer reviews that may be requested based on a negative action.
- May be required to participate in a Fair Hearing should a negative action be appealed to explain the medical review process and decision making.
- Supported by a Medical Director and a team of physicians doing similar work.
