Description: The Judge Group is currently seeking a Network Engineer with an active CBP badge or a DoD clearance to support a large cloud modernization project. This position is remote, with employees required to live in the Washington, DC metro area.
Job Summary: As a Network Engineer I, you will collaborate with an enterprise network architecture and engineering team to support our Federal customer. Your primary responsibility will be to upgrade, modernize, and migrate the Wide Area Network (WAN) communications infrastructure, which serves over 1200 field sites and multiple Program Directorates.

Job Summary: As a Network Engineer I, you will collaborate with an enterprise network architecture and engineering team to support our Federal customer. Your primary responsibility will be to upgrade, modernize, and migrate the Wide Area Network (WAN) communications infrastructure, which serves over 1200 field sites and multiple Program Directorates.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain the Technical Requirements Document and a Detailed Design Document (DDD) for the enterprise network solution architecture. Ensure alignment with the associated Functional Requirements Document and DDD, and facilitate any transition to Operations support.
- Change Management: Support updates to all relevant documents when there are changes in transport design and/or technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to test related systems and processes, ensuring compliance with requirements and seamless application hosting without compromising performance or security.
- Test Reporting and Implementation: Prepare test reports and Implementation Plans for each change impacting the WAN/LAN/MAN or cloud network environment.
- Requirements Clarification: Interface with customers to collect and clarify network requirements.
- Network Management: Manage network communications testing, installation, and support for the MAN/WAN system.
- Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to other networking team members.
- Problem Diagnosis and Recommendations: Identify and diagnose network performance issues using software and hardware tools. Offer recommendations to enhance and improve network performance.
- Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network infrastructure systems as needed.
- System Engineering: Perform system engineering design, integration, and implementation tasks. Coordinate personnel, hardware, software, budget, facilities, and equipment.
- Vendor Interaction: Interface with vendors during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
- System Evaluation and Optimization: Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, perform problem isolation and resolution, monitor, tune, and optimize network systems.
