Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Location: Carson City, NV (looking for local candidates only)
Employment Type: Long term ongoing Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through rigorous testing and process improvement. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues, verify fixes, and ensure a seamless user experience.

This position will report to the Manager, Systems and Platforms, and will provide Quality Assurance expertise to design, build, and operationalize software testing processes, including automated testing capabilities and integration with software deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases (manual and automated)
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and ensure test coverage
  • Perform regression, performance, and stress testing
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
  • Be available to DMV personnel for online consultations/meetings M-F, 8a-5p Pacific Time.
  • Provide regular QA status updates (progress, issues, and risks) in meetings.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a QA perspective

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit)
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git)
  • Strong understanding of source code control, build, and deployment processes using release automation tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Knowledge of performance and/or security testing
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with API test tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)
