Job Details
Are you passionate about the development, characterization, and failure analysis of next-generation materials? If so, we are looking for a well-qualified individual to join us in Apple's Materials Reliability Group by taking on an influential role, tasked with assessing material-level reliability and guide development teams toward a reliable design of new technology components. Through deep investigation and collaboration, we strive to provide customers an experience of enduring quality through these products so integral to our lives. Come join our team!
Description As a Materials Reliability Engineer, you will identify high risk failure modes at material level, especially early in the design life cycle, and collaborate with design engineering teams to reduce the risk. You will develop new stress conditions based on material physics and expected user behaviors, identify and implement necessary equipment and specifications that are critical to validating material performance and product reliability, and assess product-facing reliability through stress test data and material understanding. Finally, you will support failure analysis, provide design direction based on your evaluation of test data and failure root cause understanding. You will also support vendor testing by traveling and collaborating with global teams to implement novel solutions. To be successful in this role, your ability to establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships is essential. Roughly 60% of your effectiveness stems from exercising influence over the design team to help you implement solutions.
