Job Description:

You will be part of the Technical Solutions Services team responsible for designing, building, delivering and providing 3rd Level support of our Linux environment, Ansible, Satellite, Nagios, and GitHub repos. Your job is to ensure that every client s location, associate and customer has the best experience possible utilizing the Linux solutions we provide.

In the Sr. Systems Linux Engineering role, you will work with other engineers to deliver performance and service standards from your internal customer's requirements. Using your technical experience, you will deploy to standards, automate service delivery, complete capacity planning and demonstrate efficient and effective use of the Linux environment.

This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Technology Solutions Infrastructure.

Design and support data networks for client s data centers, corporate facilities, retail stores, distribution centers, call centers, and eCommerce environment. Design, develop, implement, and support network solutions for IT projects.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Participates and documents systems requirements and authors solution designs.
  • Reviews and provides feedback for system design solutions that will impact their area.
  • Participates in establishing strategies and standards.
  • Creates and manages system capacity plans.
  • Leads, or participates, in installation and configuration activities.
  • Develops and maintains procedures and system documentation.
  • Performs systems resource optimization activities.
  • Leads, or participates, in major updates supporting new requirements and maintaining systems currency.
  • Leads or participates in implementation of resources management and monitoring methods, tools and threshold.
  • Works on many phases of a project or entire projects of moderate complexity
  • Oversees monitoring, system access and resource administration.
  • Participates in systems management, and Security Compliance activities.
  • Supports resolution of production incidents.
  • Routinely monitors all systems within their domain.
  • Accountable for team dependencies and critical paths.
  • Provides work breakdown planning and estimation.
  • Reviews and evaluates the team s estimates.
  • Their work and others they may oversee within their domain.
  • Identifies feature and module dependencies.
  • Proposes mitigation plans for identified risks and problems.
  • Accountable for team dependencies and critical paths.
  • Anticipates risks and provides contingency solutions and timelines.
  • Collects useful metrics and targets for domain.
  • Suggests process improvements and best practices.
  • Measurably improves processes and best practices to achieve goals.
  • May research new technologies and methods, collaborating on solutions for multiple teams and features.
