Job Title: Agent Banking Onboarding Associate: AFS Level 3
Location:
Buffalo, NY (Preferred) | Open to Remote (US-Based)
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Rate : $30-40 Per hour

Overview:

The Agent Banking Onboarding Associate provides critical support to the Agent Banking team by reviewing complex commercial loan documentation, including credit and participation agreements. This role ensures adherence to internal policies, accurate loan servicing, and effective coordination across stakeholders such as Commercial Sales, DCM Middle Office, Finance, and Participating Banks. The Associate will monitor loan pipelines, verify conditions precedent, and authorize fund releases for new closings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review complex commercial documentation packages (credit and participation agreements) for accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate system coding for accounting, billing, and reporting of commercial and syndicated loans.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex customer or operational issues.
  • Coordinate loan closings between DCM Middle Office and Agent Banking teams, including day-of-closing funding to Agent Banks.
  • Review post-closing documentation to ensure all approvals, legal requirements, and funding conditions are met.
  • Track and ensure timely funding from participating banks; escalate issues to the Closing Team as needed.
  • Oversee accurate accounting for all syndicated and participated loan closings and modifications.
  • Partner with Finance to determine appropriate fee applications (income recognition or amortization).
  • Lead or support M&A activities in Syndications and Participations (data mapping, conversion testing, and portfolio review).
  • Ensure compliance with all risk, audit, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to a collaborative culture aligned with the Bank s brand and values.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree and 3+ years of related experience, including 1+ year in commercial loan servicing (or 6+ years combined higher education and related experience)
  • Prior exposure to AFS Level 3 system
  • Strong understanding of commercial lending, loan documentation, and syndicated/participation loan processes
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and loan servicing or banking systems
  • Excellent analytical, math, and documentation review skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with Reconciliation or Accounting for commercial loans
  • Agent Banking platforms
