Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise virtualization and cloud infrastructure. This role is critical for ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of VMware-based environments across the organization. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, develop architectural standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain VMware virtualization platforms, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and related technologies.
- Design and implement enterprise-grade solutions for compute, storage, and networking within VMware environments.
- Develop and enforce architecture standards, policies, and best practices for virtualization and cloud integration.
- Collaborate with project teams and enterprise architects to ensure seamless system integration and operational handoff.
- Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization of virtualized infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance on disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity strategies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve infrastructure flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures for maintainability and compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for VMware technologies and mentor junior engineers as needed.
Skills
Required:
- 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in VMware architecture and engineering roles.
- Expert-level knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and related virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of storage (SAN/NAS), networking, and security within virtualized environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware tools such as vSAN, NSX, and Horizon.
- Proficiency in capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex VMware environments.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerCLI, Python, or similar).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience with hybrid cloud integration (AWS, Azure) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions and compliance frameworks.
