Cable Technician

Location: Ashburn, VA
Travel: Within a 100-mile radius (overnight travel may be required)

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and replace defective parts; reassemble and repair batteries and related equipment.
• Install new equipment to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
• Provide on-site technical assistance and training for safe equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate service reports, expense reports, and compliance documentation.
• Operate material handling equipment in accordance with OSHA requirements.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Act as a communication link between customers and the company to deliver exceptional service.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Hands-on experience in an electrical-related field.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and write in English (customer correspondence, reports, memos).
• Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Ability to solve simple equations.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including reading schematics and using test equipment.

Preferred Skills

• Punchdown and structured cabling experience.
• eLow-voltage and cable tech experience.
• Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic fields (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; heavier loads with assistance.
• Comfortable working in plant/warehouse environments with varying conditions.
• Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Forklift operation experience (or willingness to train).
• Must be able to differentiate colors.
• Willingness to be on-call and travel overnight as needed.
• Compliance with PPE requirements at all times.
• Regular onboarding required.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodbridge, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
