Job Description
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in McLean, VA on a hybrid work schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-based infrastructure, and modern DevOps practices. This role involves close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline deployments, enhance system resiliency, and ensure scalability of applications.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application development and deployment.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using modern tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Monitor system health, performance, and security with proactive issue resolution.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
Implement best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management.
Support containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Troubleshoot build, deployment, and production issues in real time.
Required Skills
5+ years of professional IT experience with at least 3+ years in a DevOps role.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar).
Strong skills in one or more scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell, or Go).
Proficiency with configuration management and automation (Terraform, Ansible, or Chef).
Experience managing containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Cloud expertise with AWS preferred; Azure or Google Cloud Platform experience a plus.
Strong understanding of networking, security, and system monitoring tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of infrastructure security, secrets management, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with service mesh or API gateways.
Exposure to monitoring and alerting frameworks at scale.
Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
