Overview
Responsible to support critical Tier-1 and Tier 2 application Db2 databases in a very large mainframe environment.
Required Qualifications : 10+ years of experience as DBA for Db2z, Db2 Data Sharing , IIDR ( SQL rep and Qrep), IDAA
Preferred Qualifications: Zowe and Admin foundation for DB2 , IDMS , ServiceNow
Education : High School Diploma/GED plus work experience in lieu of Bachelor s Degree
Key responsibilities as Db2z DBA:
Executing DDL and DML requests for Application teams and business users in production, test, and development environments.
Develop scripts ( JCL, REXX) to manage, maintain, and provide reporting on vital database activities and execution of jobs
Replication setup to replicate data across different DB2 subsystems
Database and SQL performance monitoring techniques for tablespace and index optimization, Omegamon for Db2 and Query Monitor
Review of Db2 package access paths , hints
Working knowledge of Db2 utilities
Analysis of data growth , capacity planning and maintenance activities
-Building and implementing database backup and recovery strategies.
Setting up tables and data synchronization in IDAA
Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotatio
Designing, developing, implementing, and providing operation support of database security.
Preparing disaster recovery (DR) documentation and participating in DR activities to ensure database recovery at the DR site is within set Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
Automation of routine tasks
Planning and execution of Db2 software upgrade activities
