Description: Our client is currently seeking a Mobile Developer (Mid-Level)

Title: Mobile Developer (Mid-Level)

Location - Austin, TX (Hybrid Onsite - 3 days/week)

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Android Engineer to join our mobile development team. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and performant mobile solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement intuitive and responsive user interfaces for phones and tablets.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct unit testing and automated UI testing across a wide range of Android devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to define technical solutions and system architecture.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for new and existing features.
  • Ensure mobile applications adhere to security best practices and accessibility standards.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support continuous integration and delivery processes.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in Android development.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose and custom UI components.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with GitHub and enterprise-level branching/merging strategies.
  • Familiarity with Gradle, Maven, and dependency management.
  • Experience writing unit and UI tests using modern testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Strong debugging skills, including memory and performance optimization.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building modular native features.
  • Familiarity with Android NDK and multiple Android SDK versions.
  • Knowledge of design systems and scalable UI architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences and staying current with mobile trends.
