Entry-Level Electrical Engineer (Renewables)
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented entry-level electrical engineer for a full-time position in our Renewables Transmission Department. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the developer interconnection process and delivery of renewable energy onto the electrical grid. Responsibilities will range from interconnection application support through the detailed design of low to extra-high-voltage renewable collector substations to include one-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation layout, etc. The position may also include performing design calculations in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc., assisting senior engineers with QA/QC design checks, assisting design engineers with design efforts for renewable collector substation physical and protection/control design.

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented entry-level electrical engineer for a full-time position in our Renewables Transmission Department. Required Education/Experience
- A BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology), BSREE (BS Renewable Energy Engineering), or related engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on.
- Candidates must be willing and able to work effectively and efficiently in a remote work environment when required.
- Must have a strong command of the English language; experience and demonstrated written and oral communications skills, including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings and provide direction to others.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- Preferably an Electrical Engineering degree with a power option from an accredited university.
- At least three months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis.
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for the successful completion of tasks.
- Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus.
- Candidates who have passed the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position.
- Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
